Marcia is celebrating her 58th year as a Registered Nurse. After graduating from the School of Nursing at the Jewish Hospital & Medical Center of Brooklyn in 1968, she and her husband, Mike, relocated to Southern California, where she received her license to practice.
In 1975, Marcia earned an Associate Degree in Nursing from Saddleback College in Mission Viejo, and in 1979, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from California State University, Long Beach. At that time, she also became certified as a California Public Health Nurse.
Answering a call to serve her parish community, Marcia completed the Foundations of Faith Community Nursing program through Carle Health and earned her designation as a credentialed Faith Community Nurse. She is an active member of the Hoag Hospital Faith Community Nurses Network, Faith Community Nurses International, Nurses Christian Fellowship, the American Holistic Nurses Association, and the Health Ministries Association.
Marcia brings her decades of professional experience in a variety of nursing specialties to her ministry as the Health Information Advocate at Santiago de Compostela Catholic Church in Lake Forest, California. To further enrich her service, she also earned a Certificate in Catholic Theology through the Augustine Institute’s short course program and serves the parish as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion to the Sick and Homebound.
